Brimbank vaccine rate among state’s lowest

Brimbank is in the top 10 local government areas (LGAs) for low COVID-19 vaccination rates, as revealed by recent health department data.

According to the data, Brimbank has a first dose COVID-19 vaccination rate of 78.3 per cent, the seventh lowest across the state.

Brimbank’s second dose percentage – 43.7 per cent – was revealed to be the second lowest in Victoria.

The Yarra LGA has the lowest vaccination rate in the state for first dose coverage, according to the data, with 72.5 per cent, while the Greater Dandenong LGA was the lowest for second dose coverage at 40.7 per cent.

It comes as Premier Daniel Andrews announced a vaccine push for several postcodes, including in Brimbank.
