Hip-hop and roots grooves from singer-songwriter and poet Niasha will be a highlight of Brimbank’s creative events program this month.
The Zimbabwean-born artist is set to deliver a digital soulful session on November 29. when she will delve into the topics of love, identity and living a fulfilled life.
Council’s Creative Brimbank initiative is synonymous with all things dedicated to arts and culture in the diverse and inspiring community.
Artists, cultural events and shows, creative workshops and community art activities will all come together under the Creative Brimbank brand to increase the engagement of the community in connecting to the arts and to celebrate our creativity.
Brimbank acting community wellbeing director Lynley Dumble said the aim was to have everyone able to participate in and collaborate towards building a vibrant, connected and creative community.
“Council is dedicated to ensuring the arts are part of everyday life in Brimbank, as well as developing artistic thinking in the community through the work of the arts and culture team, and beyond.,” Ms Dumble said.
“We advocate for the inclusion of arts in the west by bringing quality experiences in performing and visual arts, and delivering an engaging program of creative workshops, festivals and events.
“You could say Creative Brimbank is our new arts and culture mantra!”
In line with this, Brimbank council recently unveiled a new Creative Brimbank website dedicated to sharing creative ideas and inviting everyone to participate. The website features a calendar of events, blog posts, public art information, artist opportunities, videos, and more.
