Tapping into Brimbank’s “hidden” gems is the aim of a new council strategy to make the area a more popular visitor destination.
Mayor Margaret Giudice said Brimbank had the potential to get a much larger slice of the visitor economy by showcasing its unique attractions.
“Brimbank is the hidden gem in Melbourne’s west and there is so much to enjoy here,” Cr Giudice said.
“Brimbank offers so many unique experiences – authentic food from around the globe, beautiful natural attractions, an exciting array of festivals and events, inspiring national parks like Organ Pipes, a growing arts and entertainment community.
“Brimbank also has a gritty history that continues to shape our culture and landscapes.
“About four million people visit Melbourne’s west each year.
“It’s a massive opportunity for us to attract more people to visit Brimbank and enjoy its attractions.
“There is also a large market of visiting friends and relatives that we can tap into.
“More visitors to Brimbank means more dollars coming in to local businesses and a boost for our local economy and community.”
