A new Brimbank Central Rotary project that brings together talented young people and their elders is hitting all the right notes.

Arcare Hillside residents were treated to a choral performance last Friday by eight Victoria University Secondary College singers.

It all started when the BCR was awarded $1000 – which it used to set up the program, source sheet music and other equipment.

Under the guidance of teacher, classically trained vocalist Miranda Orford, the VCE music students meet every Monday to practice their singing repertoires to perform around the area.

“They’ve had an opportunity to perform at a number of community events,” VUSC teacher Athena Vass said.
