Brimbank council’s chief executive officer Paul Younis has resigned.
Council staff were informed of Mr Younis’ impending departure this morning.
The outgoing chief executive has been in the role for less than two years. He was appointed in October 2015 following the resignation of Bill Jaboor.
He had previously held the position of chief executive officer with Corangamite council for two years, and had 20 years of experience in a range of senior management positions, including as acting chief executive with Buloke shire council for six months.
Brimbank council is expected to release a statement later today.
Mr Younis is tipped to take up a role with the state government.
