Booster rate low in Brimbank

Less than a third of Brimbank residents eligible to receive their COVID-19 booster shot has received one according to government data.

The data provided by the state and federal governments, breaks down the vaccine rate by postcode up until January 25.

Just one postcode in Brimbank has a third vaccine rate of more than 30 per cent.

In the 3023 postcode which includes Ravenhall, Deer Park Caroline Springs, Cairnlea and Burnside has a third vaccine rate of between 20 and 25 per cent vaccinated.

Only between 85 per cent and 90 per cent of people eligible people in that postcode has received two doses.

In the 3021 of St Albans, Kings Park, Kealba and Albanvale only between 20 and 25 per cent of eligible people have received their booster shots.

Between 90 and 95 per cent have received their second dose.

In Sunshine and the 3020 postcode slightly more people have had their booster, between 25 per cent and 30 per cent.

Between 90 and 95 per cent have received their second dose.

The figures for the second and third doses were the same in the 3038 postcode including Taylors Lakes, Keilor Downs and Keilor Lodge.

Keilor has the highest third vaccine rate in Brimbank at between 30 and 35 per cent.
