Boom gates not working

Thanks Laura, can I pop this online?

Police are directing traffic away from the Old Geelong Road level crossing in Hoppers Crossing, after the boom gate stopped working.

Buses are also replacing trains on the Werribee Line between Laverton and Werribee stations.

The Department of Transport (DOT) has advised passengers to check station platform displays and listen for announcements, and to allow additional time for their journey.

Authorised officers will assist passengers changing between trains and buses at Laverton and Werribee stations.

Motorists have been advised to use Derrimut Road or the Princes Freeway and Forsyth Road instead of Old Geelong Road,

Technicians are working to resolve the issue at the crossing and restore normal service.

DOT traffic signals team is monitoring conditions and will adjust traffic lights to assist with bus movements in the area.
