Bikies fined for breaching restrictions

A group of people at The Rebels Motorcycle clubhouse have been slapped with fines from Victoria Police for flouting social distancing restrictions.

Police found seven men and two women socialising at the clubhouse in Sunshine West on Tuesday night.

Each was issued with $1652 fines for breaching the directions of the chief health officer and told to move on.

Police say they have been closely monitoring outlaw motorcycle gangs activity and will continue issuing fines for those gathering at clubhouses.

In the past 24 hours, police have conducted 835 spot checks at Victorian homes, businesses and non-essential services across the state as part of Operation Sentinel.

A total of 114 fines were issued.

In another breach of measures, seven people were issued infringements after gathering at a house for a dinner party.

Meanwhile, three friends who were playing video games in a lounge room and did not live together were also fined, as were a group of friends hanging out at a park.
