Custom bikes and cars will be on display at the Saint Side annual show at Brimbank Bicycle Education Centre on February 7.
The 2021 show was in doubt as recently as a couple of weeks ago, but organisers have committed to staging the event for a 12th year.
The show will once again be a celebration of custom bicycles and cool cars, and will include food trucks, vendor stalls and good music, uniquely presented and well loved in the west.
Saint Side’s Mark Gale said it would be a slightly different event from previous years.
The show began as a way to see what people did with the equipment they purchased at Saint Side and grew from there.
“This year, whilst we are still going ahead, there are some changes and the event will be just as entertaining – although strategically spaced out to promote as much distancing as possible – with all of the components that make up the show,” he said.
“From the vintage, custom and lowrider bicycles, to food trucks, vendor stalls, entertainment, bicycle track to enjoy your bicycle, we will be utilising the entire venue space whilst adhering to DHHS regulations for the event.
“We also have a 20-inch bicycle drag race that we started last year, and this year the event will be run in a longer length, which should be very entertaining.”
He said there might be short queues due to restrictions on crowd numbers, but everyone would get the chance to have some fun.
“Regardless if it’s bike owners only, or additional people want to come and enjoy the day, we are happy it’s continuing, and just like face masks, the show must go on.”
There will be 10 judging categories for the best cars and bikes.
