Australia Day comes alive

Get ready to celebrate all things Australian this weekend in the Macedon Ranges and Hume.

Macedon Ranges council will mark the day with an Australia Day awards and citizenship ceremony at the Kyneton Town Hall, 129 Mollison Street, on Sunday, January 26.

Awards including citizen of the year, young citizen of the year, community achievement, arts ambassador and community event will be presented on the day.

For those looking to dress up in their best, celebrate the long weekend with a day at the Australia Day Races on Monday, January 27 at Hanging Rock, 139 South Rock Road, Woodend from 11am,

In Hume, a ceremony will be held at Town Hall in Broadmeadows on Sunday, January 26 from 9am to present the council’s Australia Day awards for citizen of the year, young citizen of the year and community event of the year. All members of the public are invited to attend,
