Arrest after St Albans carjacking

A St Albans man has been charged following an alleged carjacking in St Albans last night.

A 21-year-old Diamond Creek man had his Holden sedan stolen after another man threatened him with a weapon on William Street around 7.45pm, police say.

The vehicle was intercepted by members of the Fawkner Highway Patrol near Pascoe Vale Road in Broadmeadows shortly after 8pm.

Junior Levy, 21, was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

He faced an out of session’s court hearing and has been remanded in custody.
