Ardeer retiree scoops The Pools

A retired man from Ardeer is looking forward to relaxing in his retirement after winning a division one prize of $443,889.70 in The Pools draw, drawn Saturday January 27.

Despite the entry being registered, Tatts officials had unsuccessfully attempted to contact the customer several times but were unable to get in touch with the news his numbers had come up.

When speaking with a Tatts official to confirm his win, the happy winner admitted the call came at an opportune time.

“Jesus Christ, God Almighty. Just at the right time too. Thank you very much,” he said.

“You’ve been the one ringing throughout the day haven’t you?

“I don’t usually answer calls from someone I don’t know but next time I’ll make sure I answer the phone.

“I’m glad I answered your call.”

When asked how he planned to spend his The Pools windfall, the winner revealed it had come at a great time for him.

“It has come at just the right time, I really need it,” he said.

“I’ve recently retired and didn’t have much but now I will be able to relax in retirement and even help other people too.”

The regular The Pools player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 50 game QuickPick entry online.

The Pools is a Tatts game where six numbers are drawn from 38 based on the results of local and international soccer matches.

The winning numbers in Saturday’s The Pools draw were 32, 25, 30, 27, 18 and 15. The supplementary number was 10.
