Albion man charged over alleged Footscray Station sexual assault on teen boy

An Albion man has been charged over an alleged sexual assault on a teenage boy at Footscray Railway Station during the peak rush.

Police allege a 17-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man as he was getting off the train at the station about 5.20pm on February 22.

Leading Senior Constable Paul Turner said a 31-year-old Albion man was arrested on Thursday afternoon after he handed himself in at the Richmond Police Station.

He was charged with sexual assault and has been bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on May 22.
