An Albanvale man had been charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of amphetamines and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime.

The 32-year-old is one of four people who have been charged as part of an investigation into an organised crime syndicate linked to the trafficking of drugs in Victoria.

On Saturday, April 9, police executed warrants at properties in Albanvale, Footscray, Maribyrnong, Essendon, Caroline Springs and Southbank.

Police charged the Albanvale man, a 50-year-old Footscray man and a 35-year-old Essendon man following the raids.

Two of the men faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 10 while the third will face court on Tuesday, April 11.

Police seized a number of items from the properties including cash, vehicles, methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

A Maribyrnong man was charged on April 6 as part of the investigation.

Victoria Police Crime Command Acting Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen said the trafficking of illicit drugs into this state remains a key focus for Victoria Police and other law enforcement agencies, and today’s arrests are a significant win.
