A Braybrook student’s passion for art is putting her on the pages of an international publication.
Cecilia Rafanan’s sketchbook of experimental art has been selected from more than 600 entries for the Student Art Guide’s first publication, 100 High School Sketchbooks.
The Student Art Guide website was created in New Zealand to promote worldwide the work of art students aged 14 to 18.
The publication will include large, high-quality images.
Selection for the book is an impressive feat considering the 17-year-old Caroline Chisholm Catholic College student has no grand plans to expand her artistic skills.
“It’s more of a hobby; I’m not hoping to make a career out of art,” Cecilia says.
“I’m looking to study science at university. I was shocked and excited to know I’d been selected. It’s my first time of being published.
“Like most kids, I’ve been into art since kindergarten.”
Cecilia spent a week working on her two-page entry.
