Salvos laud ‘legendary’ Sunshine baker

It was Sunshine at its best for 50 people who were able to eat their fill recently, thanks to the generosity of B & T Bakery on Hampshire Road.

The bakery regularly donates bread rolls to the Salvation Army Sunshine’s Friday night community meal. But it went an extra mile on February 19, donating enough Vietnamese-style barbecue chicken to feed 50 hungry people.

Salvation Army Sunshine officer Lieutenant Colin Reynolds described bakery owner Kim Lu as “a legend” for sharing food with some of Brimbank’s residents in need.

“Truly the Sunshine community at its best,” he said.
