Once upon a time, a much-loved ballet came to Keilor.

As part of school holiday festivities, Keilor Central is joining the The Australian Ballet to bring costumes from its Once Upon A Time: The Nutcracker production to the centre.

Assistant marketing manager Daniela Valencia said the display would complement the centre’s dance-themed holiday activations.

“The Australian Ballet is Australia’s national ballet company and they’ve been kind enough to lend us these costumes,” she said.

“We’ve also partnered with the Keilor studio dance school to do some classes so it all ties in nicely. “It’s a great opportunity to learn something different.”

Children will also have the chance to show off their creative talents.

“We’ve got a colouring competition … kids can go to our website, download the template and then all they have to do is drop it off to the barrel in store,” Ms Valencia said.

“The winners, which will be drawn on July 12, get tickets to

Once Upon a Time: The Nutcracker, which is showing in Melbourne on September 19.

“It’s really exciting … we hope the customers love it as much as we do.”

The exhibition will run until July 12.
