Brimbank has welcomed another member to its exclusive centenary club.
Maria Stella Costa celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends on Friday night at a Sunshine North aged care home.
Maria, who was born in Stefanaconi, Italy, on March 4, 1916, followed her husband, Pasquale, to Australia in 1955 on board the Sorrento, both in search of a better life.
She has been in Sunshine North ever since.
With four children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren, Maria has been devoted to her family for many years.
