Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the discovery of a woman’s body in Cairnlea last night.
The 59-year-old woman’s body was discovered at a residence on Sunnybrae Circuit about 7.20pm.
A 59-year-old Cairnlea man has been charged with murder.
He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court later this morning.
The exact circumstances surrounding her death are yet to be established.
Both parties are believed to have been known to each other.
The investigation is ongoing.
