Sunshine teen charged over west crime spree

A 17-year-old Sunshine boy has been arrested in relation to a series of home invasions last month.

The teenager was arrested and charged yesterday with two counts of home invasion, one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. He will appear in the childrens court at a later date.

It is alleged a group of males broke into a house in Highbury Drive, Hillside, about 11.30pm on Thursday, January 4.

About an hour later, a home at Coleridge Drive, Delahey was also allegedly broken into by a group of males.

On the same night, an alleged attempted armed robbery occurred in Taylors Hill and an alleged armed robbery occurred in Cairnlea.

Investigation are ongoing and further arrests are expected.

The Sunshine teen was also charged with one count of robbery in relation to an incident which occurred on Wednesday, January 31 in St Albans in which a 67-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a group of males.
