Anzac Day centenary: Movelle Primary School’s garden tribute

This Friday, pupils at Movelle Primary School will remember the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and the Gallipoli campaign, in a service held in their new Anzac remembrance garden.

Principal Bill Hunt says the school received a state government grant to set up the garden, which includes a wall mural, a patch with poppies and rosemary bushes, and a flag pole.

“It’s been a good discussion point for students to talk about what Anzac Day is about, and other conflicts that Australia has been involved in,” Mr Hunt said.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand forces at Gallipoli.
