North West Metro Region police officers charged with drugs crimes

Two Victorian police officers have been charged with drug trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime.

The Senior Constable and a Constable, both from the North West Metro Region, have been charged on summons following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command as part of Taskforce Keel.

Both have been charged with possess proceeds of crime, trafficking a drug of dependence, three counts of theft and three counts of misconduct in public office. 

They have been suspended without pay.

The pair will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on February 24.
