VU St Albans team spurred on to help Guide Dogs Victoria

VU St Albans Spurs raised more than $8000 for Guide Dogs Victoria at a charity football match at Kings Park Reserve on May 25.

The Spurs, who play in the premier division of the Victorian Womens Football League, competed in a special Guide Dogs Victoria guernsey against Diamond Creek.

Despite going down by 31 points, the day was declared a success by organisers.

Guide Dogs Victoria chief executive and Spurs president Karen Hayes said that with less than 8 per cent of its funding coming from the government, community support was integral to Guide Dogs Victoria providing services.
