Cairnlea breast cancer supporter to take to MCG

A Cairnlea woman will walk the MCG’s hallowed turf later this month to show support for the 42 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

Diana Ortega, who had a cancer removed in 2013, will be among 15,000 people dressed in pink ponchos on May 10, standing together to form the shape of the Breast Cancer Network Australia’s pink lady symbol before the start of the Melbourne v Western Bulldogs match.

A further 125 people will wear blue ponchos, representing the number of men diagnosed with cancer each year. Tickets for Field of Women can be found at www.bcna.org.au.
