Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged drug trafficking syndicate in the north-west.
Dimos Melifronides, 43, of St Albans, and a 30-year-old Caroline Springs man, whose name has not been released, were arrested on Tuesday morning.
Mr Melifronides was arrested at Melbourne Airport and has been charged with trafficking and possessing a drug of dependence, handling stolen goods and other offences.
He was remanded in custody before facing Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 31.
The other man is charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of drugs, dealing in property suspected to be the proceeds of crime and possessing a firearm.
After the arrests, officers from the anti-smuggling Trident Taskforce raided three houses at Arroyo Place and Loddon Close in Caroline Springs and Bella Court in St Albans, seizing drugs, cash computers, jewellery and an assault rifle.
