Staff evacuated as fire hits Hungry Jack’s in Taylors Lakes

Six staff members were evacuated from a Hungry Jacks store in Taylors Lakes last night after a fire believed to be caused by faulty kitchen equipment.

The MFB received a number of calls, including from the manager of the store, about the fire in the roof space at about 5.53pm.

It took a crew of 42 firefighters 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No customers were inside the store at the time of the fire.

The fire was contained to the flue area with smoke and some water damage throughout.
