Smoke billowed across the north-west after the Department of Environment and Primary Industries and Parks Victoria conducted a 12-hectare planned burn in Brimbank Park.
Almost 30 firefighters were involved in last Tuesday’s exercise, conducted between 11.15am and 3.10pm.
Another planned burn was conducted in Keilor East.
“Every burn we do now means we’re better prepared for future fire seasons,” department district manager Dan White said.
