Braybrook’s Lorraine rewarded for decades of volunteering

One of Maribyrnong’s most inspirational women has been honoured during International Women’s Day celebrations.

Braybrook resident Lorraine Kennedy was recognised at a luncheon at Braybrook Community Centre for her outstanding volunteer work for the community over 40 years.

The 2006 Maribyrnong citizen of the year championed the creation of the Braybrook Community Health Centre, which became Western Region Health Centre, and she started the Western Region Tool Library.

Maribyrnong mayor Grant Miles said Ms Kennedy was an inspiration to everyone.
