Keilor teenager loses dad’s BMW for 30 days

A Keilor teenager has lost his dad’s BMW for 30 days after he was allegedly travelling at double the speed limit in Keilor last night.

Brimbank Highway Patrol members clocked the 2003 BMW 5 series sedan travelling at 120km/h in a 60km/h zone on the Old Calder Highway about 9.40pm.

Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the 19-year-old driver, who said he was returning home from getting take-away food with some friends.

The vehicle was immediately impounded under the hoon legislation.

He is expected to be charged on summons with speeding.
