Would-be St Albans bandit locked out shops

A knife-wielding bandit was out of luck after being locked out of two St Albans convenience shops on November 1.

The man first tried to get into a Kings Road shop at 12.30am, but left after the sales attendant refused to open the doors.

About 15 minutes later he went to another shop on the intersection of Main Road West and Gillespie roads.

After waiting a few moments for the doors to open, he was again denied entry and fled empty handed.

Police have released images of a man whom they believe may be able to assist them in their enquiries.

He is described as Caucasian and was wearing a grey hoodie, a black balaclava, fingerless gloves and carrying a black bag.
