Three groups have teamed up to offer Victoria’s Environment Protection Authority a “sustainable solution” for work gear made redundant by the agency’s first “name brand” uniform.
EPA Victoria chief executive John Merritt said that in the spirit of waste avoidance, the authority selected a supplier that also provided a solution for old work wear when the new uniforms were rolled out.
Uniforms are now en route for distribution to orphanages, schools and community nurses in Africa and Timor Leste, thanks to the smart approach of Total Work Wear’s Joseph Forte when going for the EPA supply contract in conjunction with North Altona clothing maker FashionBiz.
Work Wear is based in Keilor Park. It joined in the distribution program with Fashion Biz and Footscray Rotary’s Donations in Kind project.
