Travellers Aid Australia is offering free myki wallets to commuters to raise awareness of travellers who have difficulty using public transport.
The brightly coloured wallets come in nine designs and have proved popular since launching in mid-September.
The wallets are free but travellers are asked to cover the $2.50 postage fee and are invited to make a donation to TAA.
TAA has been operating since 1916 and aims to make everyday travel possible for all people, especially the elderly, infirm and disabled.
The organisation offers emergency relief to travellers, student passes to young people who can’t afford transport to school, medical companions to accompany people to and from medical appointments, free personal care for people with a disability, low-cost mobility equipment hire, showers and sleeping rooms at stations and a free mobile buggy service at Southern Cross station.
