IN FOCUS: You have to see it to believe it

The Deer Park Club, already the largest entertainment venue in Melbourne’s west, is well on the way to taking the crown as the premier club of the area, says general manager David Thompson.

In support of that claim, Mr Thompson explains just what the dynamic club offers as the home of entertainment this summer:

Spring Racing Carnival Week

Start off the celebration at the annual sell-out Melbourne Cup Eve event on Monday, November 5. Kicking off at 6.30pm, it features horsing legend Simon O’Donnell and footy great Mick McGuane as hosts, get the inside running on the Cup as well as plenty of cash up for grabs on the night. For $25, it includes a classic parma, chips and salad, with drinks at bar prices. Bookings are now open via deerparkclub.com.au.

Barefoot bowls and kids’ activities

Staged in the air-conditioned Bowls Dome, every Wednesday over summer – no matter the weather – barefoot bowls is hugely popular for families, couples and work groups. It costs $7 a person and comes with a free barbie and raffle ticket.

The Deer Park Club has kids’ entertainment sorted with face-painting and balloon twisting Fridays, Saturdays. and Sundays. Back by popular demand, the free twilight kids’ cinema sessions are in the courtyard on Tuesday evenings from January through to March (see online for times). Pop on your PJ’s, bring a blanket, grab a bag of hot popcorn and settle in!

Sunday sessions

Making a perfect lazy Sunday, there’s live music on in the courtyard, from 2-5pm. Get a group together to kick back with a wine or beer while the kids play on the outdoor play equipment.

Sports Bar

With two new super-screens in the bar and courtyard, customers can watch all the spring racing action. ‘The day that stops the nation’ is set for lots of excitement, with live music and drinks specials.

December sees the start of the Big Bash, bringing a summer of great cricket to the award-winning courtyard big screens.

Christmas is just around the corner…

With so many great spaces to choose from, Deer Park Club is a perfect place for your Christmas parties and functions. Call the function manager on 9363 1030 to discuss function requirements.

Fill your festive season with cheer and enjoy Carols by Candlelight on Thursday, December 20 from 6pm, complete with a visit from Santa and gifts for the kids. Skip the preparation and clean up of Christmas lunch this year and let Deer Park Club look after the whole family with Christmas Day dining – and of course Santa will be there with gifts for all kids booked for lunch.

David finishes by saying, “Make the award-winning courtyard your local this summer. The Deer Park Club – you won’t believe it ‘til you see it!”

Deer Park Club, 780 Ballarat Road, Deer Park. Opens 8am-4am Monday-Saturday; and 10am-4am Sunday. Inquiries: 9363 1030 or visit deerparkclub.com.au
