IN FOCUS: Deer Park Club bowls up a winner

The progressive Deer Park Club has a solid reputation in Melbourne’s west as the entertainment venue that “has something for everyone!” With free weekly events, live entertainment, a large family bistro, modern sports bar and an award-winning lawn bowls facility, it’s a must on your next place ‘to visit’.

General Manager David Thompson says the club is a front runner in providing world-class facilities for the ever-popular game for all ages: lawn bowls.

“Our recent addition of ‘The Dome’, an undercover lawn bowls green, has helped to grow and foster the love of the game within the community,” David says.

“The facility was built with the intention of encouraging year-round bowling – rain, hail or shine.”

“Complementing the two other outdoor bowling greens, The Dome is a purpose-built green for competition and social lawn bowls.

“The investment has been a great success, attracting large tournaments such as the Victoria Premier League Bowls Grand Final, as well as the Ultimate Bowls Championships to be held at the club this April.”

As well as a bistro where kids can eat free on Monday nights, there’s a lounge for relaxing after a meal and meeting friends for dessert, coffee or a snack.

Have a great night out enjoying live entertainment, with upcoming shows including INXIVE – The INXS Tribute Show on Saturday, May 11, Hotel California – The Eagles Tribute on Saturday, August 10, and Little River Band front man, Glenn Shorrock live in concert on Thursday, June 20.

With its family-friendly focus, the club also serves up free entertainment for the kids on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday lunch times – this might be face-painting, balloon twisting or a magic show. The club loves seeing new faces and welcomes newcomers, giving members special benefits well worth signing up for. “The Deer Park Club – You wont believe it, till you see it!”

Deer Park Club, 780 Ballarat Road, Deer Park. Opens 8am-4am Monday-Saturday and 10am-4am Sunday. Inquiries: 9363 1030 or visit deerparkclub.com.au
