IN FOCUS: Amarco: Your retirement destination

Moving to retirement living doesn’t mean giving up the things you love. For example, Amarco Apartments in Kingsville frees up time to do what you enjoy most – free from the burdens and high ongoing costs that come with managing and maintaining a house.

Sales and marketing co-ordinator Anita Ukalovic says residents will be able to enjoy the perfect retirement and the chance to fill their days with as much or as little as they like, in the environment they want.

Anita shares some of the many benefits of living at Amarco:

Vibrant community

A residents’ committee organises regular outings, including dinners, day activities and annual celebrations such as Grand Final Day.

Onsite activities include weekly tai chi classes, shows and entertainment and regular get-togethers. There’s an onsite library, as well as a business centre, lounge facilities and café.

A community bus also takes residents on weekly trips to local shopping precincts.

Peace of mind

Security is important for everyone, but particularly people as they age. Amarco is a secure complex with private underground parking, 24/7 emergency support –including nurse call button – private apartments and weekday concierge service.

Staff members are available to support residents with maintenance or other requirements.

Care partnerships

While maintaining independence is key, Amarco residents can access a range of in-home support services, such as cleaning, ironing, personal care and shopping.

These services are available from Uniting AgeWell on a fee-for-service basis, or residents may qualify for federal government support through a Home Care Package.

The neighbouring Uniting AgeWell Kingsville Community provides respite and social support options, or residential care if greater care is needed.

Simple contracts, no hidden costs

Amarco’s transparent and simple contracts mean there’s no confusion around terms and definitions. They’re in line with the rules and regulations of the Retirement Villages Act and outline all ingoing, contribution, service and exit fees. Two cooling off periods during the contract exchange process apply, so there’s no pressure to sign. All prospective buyers are encouraged to get their own solicitor to review the contracts before signing.

Location, location

Amarco Apartments are close to everything needed to live a full and independent life. Shops, entertainment and restaurants are within five kilometres, and public transport is on the doorstep – as are parks, library, cinema and sporting precincts.
