Two-minute slam

Calling Brimbank artists of the spoken word, poets, wordsmiths … and rappers.

Rehearse your verse for a chance to become Australia’s next slam poet.

For the first time, the annual Australian Poetry Slam is coming to Brimbank – with the fourth Victorian heat to be held at Sydenham library on Saturday, August29, from 2pm.

Performers are given a microphone, a live audience and two minutes to impress judges with their original scripts, poetry, hip-hop, monologues or storytelling.

The heat winner gets a $100 cash prize; second and third-placed competitors each receive a $50 JB Hi-Fi voucher.
