A husband and wife team let their wicked sense of humour run wild as they wrote and directed Sunshine Theatre Company’s latest show.

The creators and cast members are making the final tweaks before Wake Me Up Before I Burgle opens on Friday.

The story follows a sleepwalking burglar, David, who is driving his wife and local police mad as he unwittingly burgles his own home night after night.

Director Faye Lockwood-Rourke co-wrote the show with her husband, Paul. She says the company received rave reviews for last year’s show, Shh … Don’t tell the Bride.

“Sunshine has been amazing as a group,” Ms Lockwood-Rourke said.

“They remind me of the old days in community theatre when groups were small and close-knit.

“This cast of five actors has blown me away with their commitment and dedication to rehearsals.

“Wake Me Up Before I Burgle is light-hearted and fun. It’s definitely great for teenagers and adults to come along to and have a laugh.”

The show will run on selected nights until April 23 at Dempster Park Hall, 82 Phoenix Street, Sunshine. Tickets are $20. Details and booking at: www.sctheatre.com.au
