A pair of Deer Park students are going the extra mile ahead of National Literacy and Numeracy Week (August 31 to September 6).
Siblings Parnika and Laksh enjoy a challenge, and they take on a lot of them in their advanced maths course at Kumon Deer Park Education Centre.
Parnika, who turns 12 on the first day of Literacy and Numeracy Week, tackles quadratic equations usually reserved for VCE students, while Laksh, 7, works through year 8- level algebra. Laksh is a believer in the power of persistence.
“If someone doesn’t like maths, I’d tell them it’s fun and show them it’s not that difficult as long as you try.”
