Carols by Candlelight

Gisborne and New Gisborne primary schools and a choir will perform at Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, December 10 from 6pm at Dixon Field, Robertson Street, Gisborne. There will be a sausage sizzle, coffee van and ice-cream van on site and glow sticks will be available for sale. The Bendigo Bank will present its Local Hero award on the night.

 

Riddells Creek twilight market

The annual Riddells Creek Twilight Farmers’ Market will be held on Friday, December 8 from 4-8pm, on the Riddells Creek Primary School oval, 69 Gisborne-Kilmore Road, Riddells Creek. The event will offer fresh local produce, hot food, live music, and plenty of kids activities including pony rides, a bouncy castle, face-painting, and a visit from Santa at 6pm.

 

Love Your Local

Woodend’s Love Your Local market will return for a twilight session on Saturday, December 16, from 4-8pm outside the Woodend library. The market will be an outing for the whole family, featuring local stallholders, an array of food vendors, a bar serving locally produced beer, wine and cider, live music and some kids activities.

Support after suicide

Macedon Suicide Prevention Action Group invites everyone to attend its peer support group meeting, which aims to help those affected by suicide, on Monday, December 11, from 7-8.30pm at Newham Hall.

New Year’s Races

The famous New Year’s Day Races at Hanging Rock Racecourse will return on Monday, January 1, from 11am. Free kids activities, live entertainment and an incredible day of racing are on offer.

Tickets cost $15-25, children aged 16 years and under are admitted for free.

A $5 shuttle bus will be running from Woodend station to Hanging Rock and back on the day.

Christmas on the Green

Sunbury’s annual Christmas on the Green will be held on Saturday, December 9 starting at 5pm on the Village Green. Children’s activities, live music on stage. BYO chairs and picnic rug. Donations made during the event will go to the Sunbury Community Kitchen. Listen live on Sunbury radio 99.3FM.
