Michael Atkinson, the bassist with iconic Australian band Redgum, will headline a Thanksgiving concert for Vietnam War veterans later this month.
Celebrating 40 years of Vietnamese settlement in Australia, a fundraising concert to thank the veterans will be held at the Quin Auditorium, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, Braybrook, on October 31.
“It’s our way of thanking Australia for embracing and helping us resettle in a such as wonderful country,” organiser Neil Ta said.
Mr Ta will perform with his 10-year-old daughter, Vivian, and with Atkinson.
Proceeds will go, in Mr Ta’s words, to the “Aussie diggers who risked their lives to help us”.
