A confronting production at the North Melbourne Playhouse next month will be directed by Sunshine resident and emerging actor Isaac Drandic (pictured).
Described as an “unapologetic, passionate” narrative, Blood on the Dance Floor explores the legacies and memories of bloodlines, and the importance of community, through the eyes of a gay man grappling with an HIV diagnosis.
Drandic’s own bloodline can be traced back to Perth, where he was born and bred before moving to Sunshine several years ago to pursue acting and directing.
Drandic, of Croatian and indigenous descent, started out in theatre and is also set to appear in a new ABC TV drama,
Clevermen, which premieres this Thursday. “I play a ‘hairy fella’, a mythical being; it was a lot of fun,” he says of the TV show.
