It was a decade of shoulder pads, scrunchies and spandex. And now Taylors Lakes Secondary College is going back in time, like the Huey Lewis tune, with its new production, Back to the 80s! The Totally Awesome Musical.
The show will be staged on August 26, 27 and 28 at the school’s performing arts centre, but students will get a sneak-peek production on August 13 to kick-start term three.
A two-day camp was held in June, allowing students to rehearse, enhance their theatrical and musical skills, and create a bond between cast and crew.
Director and creative designer Livia Fasulo says it’s been a pleasure leading the students since their journey began in February.
“We’ve developed strong friendships, and each cast and band member has demonstrated a growing confidence in their role.”
