The call has gone out to marketeers and talented performers as one of Sunshine’s biggest cultural events takes to the streets … with a few differences.
This year’s Sunshine Lantern Festival will be held on Hampshire Road on September 10, and the Sunshine Business Association needs stallholders, food trucks, childrens’ activities and performers to keep people entertained over 10 hours.
From 10am, the road will come alive with street theatre and performances, music and foods of many nations, as well as the traditional lantern parade later to celebrate the full moon.
Festivities will end with spectacular fireworks.
“The stage will be different this year, bigger with a different layout, and we’re also working on a big screen to show all the history of the Sunshine Film Festival,” SBA co-ordinator Tracey Cammock said.
There will also be a fundraising dinner at the Gold Leaf restaurant in Sunshine on August 9.
