Learning to roar

Where: Werribee Open Range Zoo

Multicultural Raceday

Where: Werribee Racecourse

When: Saturday, April 2

Colourful saris, kilts and other national costumes will grace Werribee racecourse this Saturday for the first-ever Miss International Fashions on the Field Pageant. To enter the Miss International Fashions on the Field pageant, call Cr Marcus on 9741 5146.

Macedon Grand Tour

Where: Starts at Old Gisborne Courthouse

When: From 9am

Keen volunteers from disability support service Windarring will ‘‘flag off’’ more than 100 classic cars taking part in Saturday’s Macedon Grand Tour. The tour will pass through Riddells Creek, Hesket via Kerrie Valley, Mount Macedon, Macedon and then Woodend farmers market. Cars will also stop at the Calder Freeway service road near Malmsbury about 4pm. Details: www.macedonrangesgrandtour.com.au

Three Well Known Australians

Where: Williamstown Libarary

Shaw’s Three Well Known Australians painting has been touring the nation since 1983, stopping in each state once every 10 years. It’s on exhibition at Williamstown library until April 30.

Broadmeadows Street Festival

Where: Tanderrum Way, Broadmeadows.

When: 3-8pm, Sunday April 3

Join in the fun of this vibrant and colourful event to celebrate the cultural diversity of Hume City with food, dance and music at the first-ever Broadmeadows Street Festival. Overdownunder’s Suicide Symposium

Where: Glenn Orden Oval, Werribee

When: 11am-10pm, Saturday April 2

A group of superheroes will land at Glenn Orden Oval this week to start a conversation about suicide. Overdownunder’s Suicide Symposium will visit Wyndham for the first time, encouraging those suffering in silence speak up.

 

Family Fitness Fundraiser

Where: Point Cook Community Centre

When: 10am-2pm. Saturday April 2

Children and their parents can try zumba, jiu jitsu, and yoga classes and there will also be musical entertainment and face-painting. Tickets are $5 for children and $15 for families. Funds raised will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Where: Bluestone Church Arts Space, Footscray

Created by wit incorporated artistic director Belinda Campbell, the musical adventure Fairy Tale News will bring laughs for the young and young at heart from April 2 to 8. The show, featuring a cast of fairytale characters, centres on Granny’s basket of goodies. Tickets on sale now at witinc.com.au/whats-on/ftn
