Easterfest

Where: Maddingley Park, Bacchus Marsh

The free community festival, run by a small group of mums, will run from 9am at Maddingley Park and is aimed at raising funds for the Bacchus Marsh and Melton Regional Hospital. Easter egg hunts, for children aged one to 13, will be the main feature of the festivities along with rides and other entertainment. Tickets cost $15 per child per hunt ($20 on the day). Kruze 4 kids

Where: Langama Park, Sunbury

When: 10am-4pm, Good Friday

Hundreds of cars ranging from vintage classics to contemporary racers will be put on show at Sunbury’s Langama Park on Good Friday to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital appeal. Public entry via gold coin donation. Australia’s only Transformers Camaro and a seven-foot-tall Optimus Prime will attract the attention of children, who will also enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, jumping castle and face-painting for a gold coin donation. Super Session 

Where: Listen to Your Body gym, Brantome Street, Gisborne

When: From 8.30am, Good Friday

Gisborne’s Listen to Your Body gym, in Brantome Street, will hold a ‘‘super session’’ from 8.30am to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Members and guests will take part in a one-hour fitness class, inspired by Gisborne’s Harrison McDonald, 8, who was born with congenital heart problems and has regular tests at the hospital. Registration is from 8.15am. Spottiswoode Hotel Family Fun Day

Where: Spottiswoode Hotel, 62 Hudsons Road. Spotswood

When: From 12pm, Good Friday

Spottiswoode Hotel is this month holding a family fun day in a bid to raise $10,000 for the Good Friday Appeal. All proceeds from the day will fund equipment, research and education to support the work of The Royal Children’s Hospital. The day will include live music, face-painting, trivia, raffles and Harley rides across the West Gate Bridge.

Basketball: Whittlesea Pacers and Diamond Valley Eagles

Where: Diamond Valley Sports + Fitness Centre

When: From 5.30pm, Good Friday

Whittlesea Pacers and Diamond Valley Eagles do battle on Friday night with the men’s sides again playing in a stand-alone game this Friday to raise money for the annual Royal Children’s Hospital appeal. This year will also include a battle between the teams’ women’s sides, which are now in the same division. The women’s match will kick off at 5.30pm at Diamond Valley, with the men’s game starting at 7.30pm. Wyndham Holi Festival

Where: Presidents Park, Wyndham Vale

When: 11am-9pm, Saturday March 26

Presidents Park is set to explode with colour this Saturday when the second annual Wyndham Holi Festival comes to town. The free event will also include throwing coloured powder and a colour fun run, carnival rides, live performances, dancing, food, market stalls an Easter egg hunt and fireworks. Details: www.vcaa.org.au

Good Morning Mofo
