Take a look beyond the gates

Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is a thriving, multicultural community made up of 1500 students and 180 teaching and support staff, with world-class facilities in Melbourne’s inner west, according to principal Marco Di Cesare.

“Our personalised learning programs drive learning excellence in modern and updated buildings including an indoor swimming pool, 820-seat auditorium, a trade training centre featuring 3D printing, state-of-the-art Science labs, two libraries and a new multi-storey creative arts epicentre at our all-girls campus, Christ the King,” Mr Di Cesare says.

On Sunday, May 17, the College swings open its doors for its annual Open Day.

“The day will start at 11am and provide a first-hand look beyond our front gates at the College’s facilities,” Mr Di Cesare says.

“Discover where the world of education is heading and hear from our dedicated staff in the many learning areas that will be on display.

“Our digital technologies studies are flexible and offer students the opportunity to explore coding and programming. If interested, students can also participate in the VEX Robotics Challenge and demonstrate their skills in robotics programming.

“At Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, we recognise that educating for the future starts with putting the needs of our students front and centre, alongside our values of faith, acceptance, compassion and excellence.

“Although students achieve excellent academic success, the College believes education is more than just a score.”

A number of extension programs include international exchanges with schools in Japan and Italy; Aspire, an accelerated educational and enrichment program; Encore Music for students in Years 7 to 9; and a partnership with Australian Catholic University enabling Year 12 students to study tertiary subjects.

Students also have access to online platforms that enhance their learning and through college networks, including The University of Melbourne and Victoria University, they are able to gain insights into future studies and work opportunities.

Driven by a personalised learning philosophy, the classroom is differentiated, learning intentions are explicit and teaching is scaffolded to allow all students the opportunity to build their skills and knowledge.

Mr Di Cesare invites everyone to attend Open Day on Sunday, May 17.

“See first-hand why we are considered one of the best in the west,” he says. “Explore behind the gates and speak to our teachers and students. We look forward to welcoming you!”

Enrolments for Year 7 in 2022 are now open. Guided tours of its three campuses (Christ the King Year 7 – 9 girls; St John’s Year 7 – 9 boys; and Sacred Heart co-ed Year 10 – 12) can be arranged by contacting the college registrar via registrar@cccc.vic.edu.au outside of Open Day.
