August 11, 1976

Sitting councillors have been challenged in three Sunshine council wards. And in the fourth ward, where the sitting ALP councillor has retired, the ALP’s endorsed candidate is under siege from four opponents.

August 13, 1986

Sunshine Football Club coach Ron Brown has accused his players of too much drinking. He said their socialising on Friday and Saturday nights was affecting their play on Sundays and thereby jeopardising the Crows’ premiership prospects.

A magistrate said yesterday that teachers at Sunshine Secondary College had lost control of their students. Robert Kumar was hearing charges in Sunshine Court concerning a knife attack last Friday at the college’s senior campus.

When her son Matthew was diagnosed with autism in 2001 at the age of two, Jane Schembri’s life was turned upside down. “It was like somebody had died in the family,” the St Albans resident recalled. She is asking for help to raise funds to take Matthew to autism treatment centre, Son-Rise Program, in the US.
