Good parenting back-up

Early parenting support organisation Tweddle will hold an open day on Friday, October 28, 11am-2pm, at its Adelaide Street base in Footscray. There will be tours, children’s activities, a free sausage sizzle and staff on hand to talk to parents. Tweddle also has a fortnightly day stay program at 24 Maplewood Street, Kings Park, for parents with children up to a year old, who need help with sleep, settling and feeding routines, and to help adjusting to parenting.

Sunshine Street Band meet fortnightly on Tuesdays, 7-9pm, at Albion House, 61a Selwyn Street, Albion, the next meeting being November 1. All musicians welcome.

Albion, Ardeer open day

The Albion and Ardeer Community Club will hold a spring open day at the Eco-Living Centre at Selwyn Park, Albion, on November 6 from 2-5pm. The event, partnered by FoodisFree Sunshine, will include a wicking bed construction demonstration, free kids’ face-painting, music, community volleyball and cricket. BYO barbecue.

Floral Art Society of Australia president Noreen Donovan will give tips and share her knowledge at Sunshine Garden Club’s next monthly meeting on November 9 at Glengala Community Centre from 7.30pm. Learn how to make a floral art arrangement. A trading table will offer plant bargains.
