Idyllic family living: 7 Cardigan Crescent, Taylors Lakes, 3038

The facade of this four-bedroom, 1980s house exudes a welcoming atmosphere with its sunny brickwork, curving garden beds and profuse plants. And the interiors are just as inviting.

A large sun-drenched lounge sits at the front of the dwelling, with wide windows dressed in thick creamy drapes and matching pelmets, while ash-toned timber floorboards keep things low-maintenance.

These continue to the open plan living zone at the heart of the house, where Cathedral ceilings lined with timber and exposed beams, as well as timber wainscoting bordering some of the walls invite you to linger.

The floorboards give way to slate floors in the kitchen, where brick finishes and sturdy cabinets panelled with timber, pair with modern appliances and a galley-style layout to continue the homely feel.

A large peninsular breakfast bar beckons families and friends to indulge in conversation with the cook.

A slate-floored meals area also overlooks this living space and a door gives internal secure access from the garage.

Outside the family zone, there is a pergola nearby a vast, thriving back yard with garden beds, screening trees, lawn spaces and plenty of room for children to play, as well as playground equipment.

Meanwhile, the light-filled main bedroom at the front of the house has a large window with pelmet and matching curtains, and an archway leads to a walk-in robe area with mirrored sliding doors and a spacious en suite. A second bathroom finished in attractive white tiles with a stylish burgundy edging, also has a generous corner spa bath, and sits close to the other three bedrooms – each of which have built-in robes. A double garage, gas ducted heating, evaporative cooling, alarm system and water tanks are also included.

The house is situated in a quiet area close to the railway station, Watergardens and Taylors Lakes shopping centres as well as Taylors Lakes Primary School and high school.
