Grand haven: 12A Balcombe Road, Sunshine North, 3020

Meander down the pebbles-and-paving garden path of this Federation-style abode, across its deep verandah and up to the leadlight front door and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped back in time.

12A Balcombe Road, Sunshine North 3020

Inside, oak-toned timber floorboards, high ceilings with ornate roses, ivory walls and delicately patterned wallpaper create a neutral tone for a lavish family haven.

To the left of the entrance hall, a bedroom with built-in robe is perfect for an independent-minded young adult or older family member. Its en suite has beautiful floor-to-ceiling tiles, while a double shower and vanity feature stunning finishes including rain shower head, luxury tapware and under-counter basins.

Further into the house and past the curve of a stairway, there’s a study nook just before the dwelling opens up to a sweeping living zone.

White cabinets, vintage, textured tiles and glass splashback help create a classy kitchen. Clear glass pendant lights over the breakfast bar add a twist of contemporary style without dissolving the classic look, while the walk-in pantry has plenty more storage space.

Arranged near the breakfast island are a meals area and a generous lounge room, while outside folding glass doors there’s an undercover entertaining area. Beckoning you to linger outside for long, lazy meals with friends and family, this decked space is also the spot for yoga or filling an afternoon with a good book.

Upstairs, the sumptuous main bedroom has a massive walk-in robe and en suite mirroring many of the features of the one downstairs. This is a perfect sanctuary, as is the family bathroom with its luxurious, stand-alone bathtub.

There’s also a children’s retreat at the top of the stairs and two further generous-sized bedrooms with plenty of built-in storage.

With ducted heating, air-conditioning, a double garage with secure entry and an alarm system also included, there’s not a great deal more you could ask for.
